Michael Grant for years has been creating exceptional media content that businesses and consumers want to read. A Stanford University graduate, Grant achieved prominence as a feature writer and columnist for the San Diego Union, including two Pulitzer Prize nominations and the Associated Press News Executives’ “Mark Twain” Award. He has most recently received the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations’ top award for media writing for the eighth consecutive year.
In 2007, Grant launched The Write Outsource to make professional media writing available, on demand, to corporate marketing teams and professional services firms who want to influence buyers and inform constituents—on deadline—without sacrificing quality.
Grant’s first book, San Diego Tapestry, co-written with Charles Ross, profiled San Diego companies, including Copley Newspapers, Gen-Probe Incorporated, IVAC Corporation, Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc., Solar Turbines, Inc., Sharp HealthCare, Pardee Construction, SDGE and Sheppard Mullin LLP.
In 1990, Grant became an Instructor of Journalism at Grossmont Community College, and later became Chair of the Media Communications Department and Faculty Advisor for the Student Newspaper.
Grant is a long-time judge for The Otto J. Bos Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Journalism at San Francisco State University, and is a private writing coach for non-fiction writers, one of whom was a Pulitzer nominee in 2007.He has been a contributor to the Voice of San Diego and writes essays on national politics for The Moderate Voice media blog.
In 2003, Grant published his fifth book, “Warbirds: How They Played the Game,” an indepth account of the legendary winning streak of the Abilene Eagles high school football team, who achieved prominence in Texas football history as the “Team of the Century.”

(now U.S. Bank), McDonnell Douglas, Cipher Data Products, Inc., consulting firms such as Cambridge Technology Partners, and municipalities, such as the City of San Diego, the City of Escondido and the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Ms. Werve Grant holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law in San Diego, where she achieved distinction for scholarly writing, including two American Jurisprudence Awards.

Bill Werve is the company’s Information Technology Specialist and all-around web guru. He joined The Write Outsource as its part-time Webmaster in 2007. In addition to The Write Outsource, Bill holds the position of General Manager for a Chicago-based tool distributor for electronic and industrial markets. With ten years in the computer industry, his responsibilities include managing all of the company’s vendor relations, purchasing, website management and computer network. Effective communication is about 80% of Bill's job, and "keeping clients happy" is his personal mission.
